Product Designer

As a designer for the Instagram & Facebook Shops team, I led the design work for gift giving, discounts and promotions, and storefront product experience. My role entailed forming alignment across the company to establish a product strategy and build unique shopping experience on Instagram & Facebook. In this role, I led a team of 3 designers and also mentored designers across the org.

In this role ā€”

  1. Conducted several brainstorms and workshops to ideate on developing new set of products for Instagram & Facebook shopping.

  2. Crafted industry leading experiences for:

    a) how buyers shop on Instagram and

    b) how sellers configured shops on Commerce Manager/ Shop Builder.

  3. Through deep collaboration with UX Researchers, developed innovative products as part of differentiators strategy for IG Shops.

  4. Led a team of 3 designers, coached and mentored several designers across the Commerce and Connectivity org. Took initiative to design a new initiative for design education to level up designer competency.

  5. Set a high bar of execution through active participation in bug triages, proactive quality assurance testing of to be shipped products.

 

Example 1: End to end work on shopping capabilities for Facebook and Instagram

Example 2: Designed a systems level approach for offers, discounts, gift with purchase and special customized offers for buyers.

Example 3: Designed abilities for sellers to configure shops using Commerce Manager.

Example 4: Explored ways to reduce time spent for sellers to configure storefronts through close collaboration with engineering for API integration solutions.
